In 1975, Peter Weidhaas was elected as the Director of The Frankfurt Book Fair. It was a surprise choice. Little did he know that he would preside over revolutionary changes in one of the most important cultural expositions in the world. But first he had to answer the question of his own identity. Born in 1938, Weidhaas was forced to confront the horrors of his German past, to live and learn through the tumultuous events on 1968, and finally to find his own place among the leading lights of the literary world.
